Ingredients
This recipe is for the famous world-renowned painkiller made famous by Soggy Dollar bar in the British Virgin Islands. Recipe hail's from the Pusser's rum website.
Regular drink
- 2-ounces (60 ml) Pusser’s Rum
- 4-ounces (120 ml) pineapple juice
- 1-ounce (30 ml) orange juice
- 1-ounce (30 ml) cream of coconut
- Freshly grated nutmeg
For a Large Batch
- 1.25 gal. Pusser's Rum (160 fl oz. / 4732 ml)
- 2.5 gal. Pineapple Juice (320 fl oz. / 9464 ml)
- 0.625 gal. Orange Juice (80 fl oz. / 2366 ml)
- 0.625 gal. Cream of Coconut (80 fl oz. / 2366 ml)
Instructions
- Add liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
- Pour into a big glass or goblet filled with ice. Grate fresh nutmeg on top.
- Garnish with an orange slice and cherry.
- Be careful–this is a smooth and sneaky drink. Enjoy!
Instructions for making a large batch
- Boil or heat Cream of Coconut until it's a smooth liquid conistency.
- Combine Pusser’s Rum, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice and heated Cream of Coconut in a 5 gallon container.
- Stir mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Serve each Painkiller over ice.
- Top each Painkiller with grated nutmeg, a maraschino cherry and garnish with an orange wheel.
